What: Mainstage Performance: Tia Shearer Bassett with Flapjack Theatrics will perform THE GIRL WHO SWALLOWED A CACTUS
THE GIRL WHO SWALLOWED A CACTUS is a unique piece of storyteller theatre by Pulitzer-nominated Eric Coble, brought to life by celebrated theatre artist Tia Shearer Bassett, "one of the [DC] area's most charismatic and talented performers." Follow 8-year-old Sheila and her pack of pals during an unforgettable summer. When their fantastical junkyard fort draws the attention of a surprisingly well-dressed wild animal, the young adventurers suddenly find themselves deep in the desert, facing The Council of Howls, The Sting Brigade, The Death Cactus and much more. CACTUS is a whirlwind adventure about how we affect the environment and the animals with whom we share the planet, told by one actor with a crate full of junk and an audience full of imagination.
